New Year

NEW YEAR’S LETTER

I am writing now to wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR, and then I will probably not be able to write for quite some time (a realistic future mother).

I am happily growing, and just in the belly area. My doctor even told me I am too thin for a pregnant woman, although until now I gained 10 kg. I said I will have to record his words, because nobody ever told me I was thin in my life!

He is satisfied with baby’s development, so I hope that everything will work out fine during delivery, as it went smoothly during pregnancy.

After having a house full of guests for an entire year, including 2/3 of my pregnancy, which was really a burden for me, there is nobody visiting us these last three months. I feel great and I am just sitting, waiting, and reading baby-literature. Arnoul works less than before, because he is in between two projects. We are staying here for 2 years more, or we are leaving Prague next summer.

I am very happy I got pregnant here, and thrilled that I will have a baby in Prague. Czech health system is well organized, doctors and nurses are great, hospitals are modern, and when you enter the public transport at least 5 persons stand up to offer you a seat if you are pregnant!

As there were no guests to entertain in this period of year, it gave us the opportunity to celebrate a real Czech Christmas. Here people don’t believe in God, and you are rarely invited to somebody’s home, but we have a Czech friend who speaks Croatian, listens to Serbian folk music, and adores people from Balkans. We enjoyed genuine atmosphere at her place, with her family. A lot of food and mountains of presents, brought by Santa Claus (played this time by my husband).

So, again, I wish you all the best in 2008.

I think from spring following year our little family would need some travelling. And I am looking forward to visiting some new countries.
